Top Ten Dogs to Pick up Someone...i.e. Date Bait

July 5, 2017

Since my book is about finding romance in a community park, it got me wondering which breeds of dogs would be best to use if you actually wanted to pick up someone in a park. What dog would you take along to use for date bait?

According to PetRV.com, these are the top ten breeds for such a quest:

1--Golden Retriever. They are normally a friendly and beautiful breed that instantly stirs a conversation.

2. A scruffy terrier mix. With few exceptions, they are the cutest dogs found on the internet...hence, they will draw comments in a park.

3--Collie. "Lassie". 'Nuff said.

4--Afghan hound. These are the 'wow' dogs.

5--Labrador Retriever. Constantly placing in the top couple places of America's favorite breed, hence the most lovable.

6--Pug. Friendly, comical, happy little dogs.

7--St. Bernard. A big, lovable, sweet stuffed dog the size of a pony. Bonus points if you tie a brandy keg to its collar.

8--Tiny dogs with big confidence. Why? Confidence attracts.

9--Beagle. You can't go wrong with such an innocent, friendly face like a beagle.

10-- Old English Sheepdog. A funny, furry dog which wants to be hugged. They also happen to be eye catching, like a Collie or Afghan.

Bio

Ryan Jo Summers is a North Carolina writer who pens romances with a twist. They may contain any number of elements: Christian, humor, mystery, paranormal, sweet, shape-shifting, or time travel. Her dad is a songwriter and his aunt wrote poetry so writing must be in the family genes. She makes her home in a century-old mountain cottage, with a menagerie of adopted pets. In her spare time, she likes to gather with family and friends, paint ceramics or canvas, potter in the yard, bird-watching, or read, play chess, Mahjongg or work word-find puzzles. She might take her dog and head deep into the forests and rivers near her home to plot the next big scene or story. Like her dad's aunt, she writes poetry as a means to cope with life's pains. She collects lighthouses, shells, driftwood, and anything to remind her of the shore.
